I write poetry, and am beginning to explore other genres, particularly creative non-fiction. I draw my inspiration from country and the people here, as well as my own inner experience of life. I have lived in Alice Springs for over twenty years, and call it home.
My work is published in local and national publications, including Fishtails in the Dust (Ptilotus Press), Metabolism: the Australian Poetry Members Anthology, Australian Love Poems 2013 and Sotto magazine. I was the Café Poet-in-residence at the Bean Tree cafe in Alice Springs during 2012. I am currently completing an MA (Writing and Literature) and working on a collection of poetry.
My interest is in collaborative projects with other artists, and to engage the community in poetry. There are many ways to do this. I’ve tried just a few. In 2012, I wrote and then exhibited poetry along side the paintings of two local visual artists, Pamela Lofts and Jenny Taylor. That year I also exhibited poetry in a photography exhibition of the CA Bushwalking Club called Walking Country, and Henry Smith’s portrait show Singing for their Supper.
There are lots of wonderful writers in Alice and I love to be part of this community and the broader arts community here.
