Advocate Art Award 2015

Presented by the Central Australian Art Society (CAAS), the Advocate Art Award is the major annual community exhibition in Central Australia, attracting established, emerging and new artists working in all media. The Award provides an opportunity for artists to exhibit in a professional gallery setting, to gain public exposure and to generate income through the sale of artworks. Through generous business sponsorship, significant cash and professional development prizes are awarded across several categories.

The first Art Award was held in a carport, more than forty years ago. In 1978 the Centralian Advocate Newspaper came on board as a major sponsor and the Advocate Art Award was born. The Advocate Art Award’s enduring success over the past thirty-six years has come from the close collaboration of CAAS, its sponsors and the Araluen Arts Centre, along with the support and enthusiasm shown by participating artists and the public each year.

The Advocate Art Award is a vibrant exhibition and an annual reminder of the Central Australian art community’s creative diversity and depth.
