As a prelude to International Women’s Day on 8 March, Sydney Opera House and the Alice Springs Public Library present ‘All About Women’ Satellite live streamed direct from the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 4 March 11.30am – 4.00pm.

A program of talks and discussions about ideas that matter to women, providing an important platform for women’s voices.

Program will include:

11.30am—12.30pm grabbing back: women in the age of trump
Sophia Nelson, Francesca Donner & Fran Lebowitz
He used to run the Miss Universe beauty pageant. Now he is President of America. Join our panel of incisive commentators to look at the emboldened ways feminism is responding. Chaired by Julia Baird.

1.00pm—2.00pm #metoo: the making of a movement
Tarana Burke & Tracey Spicer
After Harvey Weinstein’s fall, we are in an era of burgeoning accountability. Join two lifelong campaigners for women’s rights to see where #metoo is headed.
Chaired by Jacqueline Maley.

2.30pm—4.00pm suffragettes to social media: waves of feminism
Barbara Caine, Nakkiah Lui, Anne Summers & Rebecca Walker
Over one hundred years ago, suffragettes were on the frontline of campaigning for women’s rights. A century later, we celebrate how far we’ve come, and look forward to an empowered future. Chaired by Edwina Throsby.
