Araluen Arthouse Cinema: The Nightingale

(FRANCE) – Rated G – subtitled
Zhigen, an elderly Chinese farmer living alone in Beijing, sets out on a journey to remote Yangshuo, to take his only companion in the city, a bird, back to his hometown and honour a promise he made to his late wife. He compels Fenxing, his granddaughter, an only child raised in the lap of urban luxury to accompany him. A sweet film about bridging the generation gap. Running Time: 100 minutes
