CROSS STITCHING THROUGH COUNTRY
…taking cross-stitch to new horizons.
Please come along and join the artists who like to share their passion and some of their stories with you.
“As well as the sheer quantity of quality works produced by Liz and Maureen to date and their joyful play with colour and pattern, the real power of Liz’s work is her ability to re-imagine and interpret landscapes in a distinctive style, revolutionising it as well as the craft medium – cross stitch – itself. Many of Liz’s designs pay tribute to the ever-changing desert landscapes; subtly shifting in response to time of day, season, immediate weather and longer term climate change. “There’s a riot of colour ripe for our diverse local artistic palettes but it can also be harsh and confronting here in all sorts of ways. Our designs and shared craft provide a deliberate distraction from this and a focus on the uplifting, beautiful and downright quirky in life. It’s a good way to unwind and to share a bit of lightness with our family and friends.”
