Red Hot Arts invites all artists and arts organisations to an end of year arts forum to catch up as a sector and discuss our activity, business and aspirations.

Come along and share 5 minutes about yourself and/or your organisation around the following points:

This Round Up aims to raise common issues, concerns, goals and needs across the region that could be addressed and discussed in future Round Ups.

The Arts Round Up will be followed by a showing of work and presentation by Tara Brandel

Tara Brandel


Tara Brandel (Artistic Director, Co-founder Croi Glan) is a contemporary choreographer and performer originally from West Cork, Ireland. She trained at the Laban Centre, London and with Steve Paxton, Nigel Charnick and Lloyd Newsom. She studied Integrated Dance with Axis Dance Company and Alito Alessi, and in 2005 had a year’s residency at Beaumont College, a college for people with disabilities in Lancaster, England. Her work has been performed at Firkin Crane, Triskel Arts Centre, Cork Opera House, Project Arts Centre, Dublin; Stukke Theatre and Ponderosa Festival, Germany; 848 Community Space, Jon Sims Centre, San Francisco Lesbian and Gay Dance Festival, Sky Dancers, Dance Mission Theatre, and Performance Showcase, San Francisco; and Spring Loaded, The Place Theatre and Chisenhale Dance Space, London. She has danced for Ka Rustler (Berlin), Emilyn Claid, (London) Jo Krieter(SF), and Kim Epifano(SF) and has has won numerous awards from the Irish Arts Council, London Arts Board, Zellerbach Foundation and Theatre Bay Area. She was a Co-Director of 848 Community Space, San Francisco from 2002 to 2004. Dance Theatre Journal writes, “Brandel’s work has a startling raw honesty…ambitious and oblique”

Croi Glan Integrated Dance Company is a professional contemporary dance company based in Cork, which performs work that includes both dancers with disability and without disability. Croi Glan was co-founded in December 2006 by Rhona Coughlan and Tara Brandel.

Croi Glan highlights the cutting edge artistic value of creating performance with diverse bodies by producing high calibre work which tours nationally and internationally. Croi Glan also provides an educational program that offers integrated dance to people with and without disability, through introductory workshops; ongoing classes; and vocational training in integrated dance.
