Beanie Festival Workshops

Join us at Central Craft during the 2015 Alice Springs Beanie Festival in a celebration of craft over 3 fun-filled days from Friday 19 June to Sunday 21 June 2015. With 17 different workshops to choose from, like – create your own Festival Fascinator, Shibori on a Bottle, to Sustainable Couture: deconstruct – reconstruct, to Silk painting, or making Silk Paper, make a felted Beanie Brooch, Knotless Netting/Lopping, or learning how to design your own Beanie, or – you might be intrigued by Paper Flower Embellishment.
You can choose from the wonderful traditional crafts, like – knitting, crocheting and felting and learn how to crochet Aussi flowers or – ever thought about learning to knit backwards? Why not make your own felted Beanie Booties or a felted money purse or you might dare to try something new like – Portrait: iPhone photography or Metallic Fabric Embellishment, Sustainable Couture: deconstruct – reconstruct or Dyeing/Painting Wool.

The broad scope and skill levels of the workshops are aimed at everyone; from those inspired by the Beanie Festival to give something a try for the first time, through to those looking to advance their skills in particular techniques and mediums.

The workshops are all two hours in length and cost $45.00, except the Festival Fascinator – a 3 hrs workshop for $55.00. Additional material and kit costs are detailed in the program and will be supplied by tutors.
Workshops have limited places so bookings are essential.
