Blacken The Globe festival

The first ever Blacken The Globe festival takes place in Alice Springs on March 30th. A film crew are covering the show and live streaming it on the internet.

‘Blacken’ features some of the best heavy bands from around Australia and is hosted by Lochlan Watt of Triple J metal show The Racket.

Headlining the event is King Parrot, grind legends from Melbourne. The band have been riding high on the success of debut album “Bite Your Head Off”.

Also on the bill are Perth’s Blunt Force Trauma, Adelaide and Darwin thrashers Alkira and FEMA, The Black Wreath’s unholy trinity: The Horror, Uncreation and Miazma as well as the return of new era rockers NoKTuRNL. The full lineup is available on the website.

“We are throwing an all Australian metal festival in the dead centre of the country. Inspired by Wacken Open Air in Germany, we aim to establish an annual event that supports the incredible metal bands our country has to offer” says founder Pirate.

‘Blacken’ takes place on the outdoor stage of the Alice Springs RSL.

The festival also features market stalls and roaming performers.

Tickets to the all ages, licensed event are available at Murray Neck Music World, Stay True Tattoo and online at http://www.blackentheglobe.com
