Call Out For Artists- KaBoom!

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

As part of the Arts Incubator Program, Red Hot Arts Central Australia is calling upon local artists to submit an expression of interest to collaborate with KaBooM, a performance/ video installation about cultural memory, courage and war which will be showcased at this year’s festival on Sunday 6th September.

We are calling upon the following (but not limited to) to participate in the creation of the centre piece surrounding KaBooM:

  • Visual artists
  • Performing artists
  • Composers
  • Textile artists
  • Film Makers
    We ask that you send us your resume (which can include images and video’s of past work) to express why you are interested in the project and also how you think your practice compliments KaBooM’s stories and idea’s.

Attached you will find detailed information about the project, a YouTube link to Deborah’s work, a non-negotiable timeline of participation and artist fee’s.

Cut off date for submissions is Friday 3rd July 2015. Successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday 8th July 2015.

About the Producer
Deborah Leiser-Moore, is a contemporary performance maker whose bold works use multiple theatrical languages to investigate culture, memory and identity. Deborah has toured nationally and internationally. Her work has been critically acclaimed and nominated for Green Room awards. Highlights include:

  • Peak Performance Festival (New York)
  • Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide International Festivals
  • Marsh Theatre (San Francisco)
  • Theater J (Washington DC)
  • Toga Festival (Japan)
  • Sydney’s Carnivale Festival
  • Performance Space and Belvoir St. Theatre,
  • The International Women’s Playwrights Festival in Athens, Greece and an Australia Council residency in Israel to research Israeli theatre.
    In 2008, Deborah established Tashmadada whose aim is bring together arts practitioners; nurture and develop national and international opportunities for Australian practitioners; create cross-cultural collaborations; make edgy and challenging performance works; and provide a forum for discussion about the arts. Since its establishment, Tashmadada has produced a number of events, collaborations and performances.
