Calling Inland Writers!

Good news!

Ptilotus Press has extended the period for submissions to the Inland Writers series to 15 June 2018.

A community collective of local writers devoted to publishing local writing, Ptilotus Press is seeking the creative response of authors across Central Australia to the theme of ‘Inland’. A publication opportunity exists for inclusion in an anthology with multiple authors (min. 3000 words per piece or up to 15 poems).

In fiction and/or nonfiction, authors are invited to consider Inland as a geographical region informing culture; as a culture ordering our relationship to place; as a place with its own set of environmental concerns; as a place created by a particular layering of story, history and myth. Ptilotus Press is seeking works that engage with and extend on existing conversations, works that take the conversation into diverse and different places.

All selected pieces will go through a professional editing process. A publication will be released around August 2018. Interested? Visit for full submission guidelines.

To date, the Inland Writers series has showcased two publications, ‘Summary of Small Things’ by Carrol Adams and ‘Living in Hope’ by Frank Byrne. Both of these books were launched at the NT Writer’s Festival 2017 and have been distributed amongst local and interstate channels. Ptilotus Press is seeking to promote the work of distinctive inland writers at both the local and national level.

We look forward to hearing from you!
