Calm Library Colouring

Need some down time? Feeling overwhelmed? Or perhaps you just love art and colour! Come and find a quiet space in the Library’s Alice Springs Collection during Mental Health Week, and colour one of our books.

Not all books should be kept in pristine condition. Two beautiful books held at Alice Springs Public Library in particular were meant to be defaced. We have two award winning books for you to colour: Outside the Lines and its successor, Outside the Lines, Too.

Colouring has been shown to be fantastic for helping you overcome stress and anxiety. Numerous mental health professionals recommend colouring to adults as a time to practice focus and mindfulness.

During mental health week, drop by the Alice Springs Collection and colour in a page or two. We’ll have lovely colour and watercolour pencils available for you to mark up these beautiful books. Feel free to even sign your pages!

You’ll be contributing to an artwork in its own merit. We’ll catalogue the two colouring books at the end of the week as a collective art project.

The Alice Springs Collection is open weekdays from 10:00am – 6:00pm.
