DARWIN FESTIVAL CALL OUT FOR NORTHERN TERRITORY ARTISTS

Darwin Festival is passionate about connecting with the cultural and artistic diversity of its unique home and is calling out to Territory artists to share their ideas or proposals for consideration for the 2013 and 2014 Festivals.

Darwin Festival is a fully curated (invitation only) festival.  We are looking to connect with local artists, companies and arts workers who have ideas, visions, seed ideas or finished works. We are particularly interested in hearing about works that might respond to or reflect on the theme ‘This Territory Life’ – a broad concept which could encompass stories, reflections or encounters of our unique times and lives.  This may include a memoir, an event of the past or present, a public or private story, tale or event…

Proposals can take the form of the following:

–          Can be any artform such as theatre, dance, puppetry, visual arts, multi or cross-artform.

–          Can be anything from a seed of an idea to a performance-ready work.

–          Projects involving collaborations with other artists (both local and outside of the NT).

–          Youth or Community projects.

Proposals must be received by Friday 30 November 2012.

Please include:

–          An outline of your project/concept – maximum one page, minimum one paragraph.

–          Brief biography of the people involved.

–          Support materials, if you have them, such as DVD, CD, demo recordings, draft script.

–          NT address and contact details.
