Desert Mob Symposium

Desert Mob Symposium brings artists from Desart member Art Centres together with special guests for a day of inspiring stories and remarkable projects. This year’s line-up includes presentations from Tjala Arts, Tjarlirli Arts, Martumili Artists and Ngurratjuta Iltja Ntjarra Art Centre, with many special guests’ including installation artist Jonathan Jones. To commemorate 21 years of Desart, this vibrant program takes the theme of ‘Reflection & Projection’ which explores and celebrates the past and future of Aboriginal Art in Central Australia. The Central Australian Aboriginal Women’s Choir will be performing at the Symposium so make sure you come down and be part of this unique and special event.

Desert Mob Exhibition: Thursday 4 September, Araluen Gallery, 5.30pm–8pm.
To celebrate Desert Mob, Hetti Perkins will be opening the exhibition and it is a great opportunity to meet the artists and buy artworks from the 31 one participating Central Australia Aboriginal Art Centres.

Desert Mob Marketplace: Saturday 6th September, Araluen Arts Centre grounds, 10am–2pm. Come down, grab a coffee and lunch and enjoy the day at Araluen exploring the marketplace and artworks for sale from our Central Desert Art Centres.
