Exhibition: Retrospective – Thank you Alice by Liz McAinsh

Retrospective – Thank you Alice
an Exhibition by Liz McAinsh

This is a farewell exhibition by Liz McAinsh and is a depiction of Liz’s journey in Texiles, Fibre, Dye and photo manipulation since coming to Alice Springs in 1992. Liz is incredibly grateful for the opportunities to learn that have been available to her since coming to Alice Springs and to the wonderful creative friends who have encouraged and supported her. “Becoming a member of Craft Council of the Northern Territory (now Central Craft) was a key to a whole new life experience for me and my growth in understanding of my own creativity. It opened up opportunities for learning on a national scale through visiting tutors and various fibre forums around the country.” The exhibition charts Liz’s journey through Silk painting, Quilting, free machine embroidery and various fibre arts she has experimented with.

Exhibition opens Friday 18 September at 6pm.
