Historical Flood Marker
Alice Springs Town Council is seeking expressions of interest for the design and installation of an historical flood marker to be located along the banks of the Todd River (Lhere Mparntwe) adjacent to the caravan car park east of the Council offices. The design should mark the significance of the high level flood of 1988 as well as other flood events in the history of Alice Springs. Importantly, the marker should acknowledge the ephemeral nature of water in the Central Desert, its effect upon the landscape and people when present and its challenges when absent.
Council has allocated $10,000 excluding GST for this commission.
For further information and to register your expression of interest please contact Councils Community and Cultural Development Manager Leon Tripp on 89500530 or email:-
