Linda Joy – Artback NT’s Artist in Residence

Artback NT: Arts Development and Touring is proud to announce Territory artist, Linda Joy, as their first ever NT Emerging Artist in Residence. Linda Joy’s residency commenced in Alice Springs this week, with a range of artist talks and public programs to be announced soon. The residency will culminate in an exhibition in November at Charles Darwin University Library in Alice Springs.

A Darwin based practising visual artist and arts educator, Joy has been the recipient of many art awards, most recently the 2013 Katherine Art Prize. She has held three solo shows, while also having her work showcased in numerous group exhibitions across the country.

Joy’s current work explores Top End landscapes, where she shares her love of ink through minuscule coils and washes to represent the interplay between foliage, rock and water.

If you would like to get in touch with Linda Joy, please contact Artback NT – [email protected] | 08 8953 5941

This program could not happen without the financial and in-kind support of the Northern Territory Government, Alice Springs Town Council, Charles Darwin University, Araluen Art Centre, Brian Tucker Accounting and Australia Council for the Arts.
