Buy tickets online now

Hear the last words from the lips of the poets, have a drink with fellow writers and newfound friends. Kick up your heels and hit the dance floor to the beat of King Marong then let the 2015 Eye of the Storm close . . . til next time.

Think the lovechild of Rockwiz and Spicks and Specks raised on a healthy diet of literature – from kids’ books to young adult fiction, it’s multiple-choice from poetry to pulp.

Two teams to get us started. One will emerge as the brains trust that new teams are (or anyone is) invited to challenge to emerge as the ultimate winner.

Come early, sign up at the door and either strut your literary genius or bluff your way to the top.

MC’s Linda Wells & Donna O’Brien + writers Laurie May and Kelly-Lee Hickey bookmarking the quiz with poetry.

Then stick around for master Gambian percussionist King Marong and Safara. King Marong grew up in a coastal fishing village in The Gambia West Africa, surrounded by the griots (hereditary musicians) and international musicians who were his mentors for Senegambian drumming and cultural priorities. Now based in Alice Springs and Melbourne King is a master percussionist, singer, composer and teacher. With his band Safara he creates an acoustic, percussion-based representation of the traditional songs and dances performed for local Senegambian ceremonies in both the city and villages.
