Millinery Workshop with Marg Johnson and Franca Frederiksen
Whether you’re a fan of the flapper style of Miss Phryne Fisher or a more contemporary look, this workshop is bound to fascinate you!
We will explore the art of millinery in this introductory workshop.
Have fun whilst learning about the elements of headwear design, and let you imagination run riot!
Create your own original, unique headpiece for that special occasion, using a range of materials.
This workshop will help you to design and create a headpiece or fascinator, using a pre-prepared base and a variety of fabulous trimming effects, such as flowers, leaves, bows or feathers.
There will also be the opportunity to experiment with manipulating fabrics.
Materials List: Scraps of fabric for making flowers, leaves, bows. PVC and old paint brush. A jar with a lid for mixing the PVC in. Any headbands, ribbons, lace, feathers, you may have.
Sewing kit – needles, sewing threads in various colours, scissors, thimble, pins, safety pins, paper clips and clamps
No special equipment is needed, though please bring a glue gun if you have one, or a humidifier.
Bring some lunch to share.
