My Desert Diary, The Exhibition
Presented by the Friends of the Desert Park this is an exhibition of twenty-four of Nick Pike’s original illustrations reproduced in My Desert Diary and used extensively in the interpretation of the Alice Springs Desert Park. This is the first time the public will be able to see some of the delightful, sometimes cheeky, but always charming drawings first hand.
My Desert Diary is an artist’s journey through the seasons of central Australia as reflected in the movements, changes and activities of the flora and fauna found in some of the special and unique habitats of the region. Sales of My Desert Diary have been a popular and consistent fund raiser for the Friends.
To introduce more people to the Desert Park, the exhibition is being held at The Residency from Sunday 8th May (Mothers Day and also a Todd Mall Market Day). The Exhibition will continue at The Residency for 2 weeks and be moved for permanent exhibition to the Desert Park.
A collection of limited edition prints has been reproduced from ten of the illustrations and are available through Friends of the Desert Park.
