NAIDOC Community Day

The Alice Springs NAIDOC Community Day will take place Thursday 6 July on the council lawns from 10am – 1pm and include traditional dancing and a desert reggae performance, market stalls, and a BBQ serving kangaroo tails and damper.

Everyone in Alice Springs is invited to show support of Central Australia’s Aboriginal culture by meeting at 9:30am on Thursday 6 July at Anzac Oval for the annual NAIDOC march, which will be led by Chansey Paech, the Assistant Minister for Aboriginal Affairs. The march will travel down Todd Mall and end at the Town Council lawns, where there will be an opening speech made by the Governor General Peter Cosgrove, who will be visiting Alice Springs and attending NAIDOC Week celebrations.
