National Indigenous Editing Forum
Call for Indigenous writers, editors, publishers and academics.
The NT Writers’ Centre invites Indigenous writers, editors, publishers, academics and interested parties to register for the National Indigenous Editing Forum to be held in Darwin on May 11, 2012.
This landmark forum brings together key players to discuss the issues faced by those in the writing, editing and publishing industries. The day-long intensive will involve discussions, workshops and hands-on skills building with the aim of developing long-term strategies to support Australia’s Indigenous writing talent.
Join the black&write! team from the Queensland State Library’s ‘kuril dhagun’ Indigenous Writing Fellowships including Linda McBride-Yuke, Ellen van Neerven-Currie, Ali Cobby Eckermann, Sue McPherson and Sue Abbey as they discuss the issues of cross-cultural editing and Indigenous publishing.
Those interested in participating in the free forum should send their name, a statement of interest and a short bio to projects@ntwriters.com.au by Friday May 4.
We are offering access grants of $500 to writers who would need to travel to Darwin to attend. To apply, send a CV and statement of interest to projects@ntwriters.com.au by Thursday April 26.
Because of the importance of this event to remote writers, video conferencing may be available. Please indicate in your application if this is of interest to you.
