New Art Creative Development initiative

Do you have big ideas for an art project that takes creative risks and explores innovative ways to bring new forms of art to the Australian public?

The Inter-Arts Office invites proposals from artists developing ambitious new work for its New Art Creative Development initiative

New Art Creative Development grants are for artists wishing to explore innovative ideas and collaborations to make major new artworks possible. In 2012, you can apply for $30,000 to develop your art project. This might include honing your plans and concept, developing a model or prototype, finding partners, and securing other sources of funding.

The Inter-Arts Office encourages New Art Creative Development proposals that investigate possibilities of artistic practices that intersect with broader cultural activity. This initiative is open to independent artists, curators and producers working across all artforms, including dance, literature, music, theatre, visual arts, hybrid, digital and interdisciplinary art.

Applications close Wednesday 1 August 2012 Development projects may start 1 October 2012

Contact Inter-Arts staff to discuss your proposal ideas.

The New Art initiative is a two-stage competitive grant program over 2011-15. Artists who have received Creative Development grants will be eligible to apply the following year for New Art Production & Presentation  grants of up to $80,000.
