Papulankutja Artists – Manager
Papulankutja Artists is a leading aboriginal owned and governed Art Centre located in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands of WA. At Papulankutja Artists we are very community focused and strive for everybody working together with a strong heart. Today, women and men, young people and old people, work together. There are 60 artists at Papulankutja and 20 artists at Jameson working for Papulankutja Artists.
The artists and directors are now seeking a highly capable and motivated arts professional who can balance the demands of a high-energy studio, a busy enterprise and national and international networks. This is a leadership role, requiring enthusiasm and negotiation skills.
The new manager will need finely developed aesthetic skills and hands-on studio facilitation experience. The manager will have the skills to promote Papulankutja Artists through a robust exhibition program. This dynamic, fast paced and multi-faceted role will see you working with talented artists from the Western Desert, delivering a broad range of projects to cater for different artist demographics.
This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a capacity to work effectively across cultures, and a genuine commitment to Indigenous self-determination. Strong management and analytical skills are essential for ensuring effective operations
The manager will work closely with the Board of Directors to support excellence in art-making, business management and community-focused programs and further enhance the reputation of Papulankutja Artists.
