Pecha Kucha Alice Springs #1
At last Pecha Kucha comes to Alice Springs!!
Pecha Kucha 20×20 Alice Springs.
PechaKucha 20×20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images. Each presentation lasts 6 minutes 40 seconds.
A Pecha Kucha Night will consist of 10-12 presenters.
Pecha Kucha was devised as a great way for people to share their ideas, their lives, their passions and their projects with their community in an exciting, precise and definitely not boring way.
Pecha Kucha Nights now happens in over 700 cities worldwide.
The presentation format was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture. The first PechaKucha Night was held in Tokyo, in February, 2003. Klein Dytham architecture still organize and support the global PechaKucha Night network and organize PechaKucha Night Tokyo.
PK Nights in Alice.
The first PKN (Pecha Kucha Night) will be held in October in Alice Springs. We will hold them every 5 or 6 weeks.
The doors will open at 6.30 pm and the first presentation will be at 7.30 pm
$5 entry -kids and over 65 free
Bar and refreshments will be available.
You don’t have to be a natural presenter to present. It’s actually not as scary as a regular presentation as people are very much looking at the visuals than at the presenter
Anyone can present. Kids are great. You don’t even have to speak if you don’t want too: we’ve had people just play live music to their slides, have had translators in to translate other languages and had a sign language interpreters in to translate sign. Anything goes as long as you have 20 slides.
People often talk about their artwork, projects they are involved in, their passions, their experiences, travel….. The most random things are often the most interesting:
My 20 best haircuts ever, 20 road cone configurations.(!), 20 foods I ate in Hong Kong, My sand bottle collection……
Some presentations are very serious, some are totally hilarious and some just odd.
