Penny Arcade: Longing Lasts Longer

Penny Arcade is a force of nature!

An Andy Warhol Factory Superstar, this is her in 75 minutes of non-stop razor-sharp wit and hysterical comedy! Straight off the back of 5 star reviews and sell-out seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Penny is making a special trip to Alice Springs before flying back to the US.

Edinburgh’s double award winning show from New York’s undisputed queen of the underground turns contemporary stand-up on its head to create a crack in the post-gentrified landscape where you will never be the same!

Driven by her magnetic rock n’ roll energy, Arcade’s razor sharp satire is mixed live to euphoric soundscapes inspired by four decades of pop culture.

A blow against the golden age of stupidity, this is a passionate and exuberant performance anthem where you can think, laugh and dance and at the same time!

Outrageous and inspirational, Penny Arcade is one of a handful of artists who created performance art as we know it today. In 1967 she debuted with John Vaccaro’s explosive Playhouse of the Ridiculous and in 1969 became an Andy Warhol Factory Superstar. A contemporary of Patti Smith and Debbie Harry, Quentin Crisp named Penny Arcade as his soul mate and the woman he most identified with.

“Hot and hysterically funny” – New York Post.
“The smartest, most quotable theatrical party in town” – Times.
