PRELUDE – Long Term Residencies
Prelude is a national initiative to provide time and space for Australian composers to make work by offering long-term residencies in historic houses around Australia.
Prelude offers four long-term residencies in composers’ houses in NSW, SA & WA. The successful applicants are provided with sole occupancy of the houses as well as a stipend to cover living costs and travel.
The stipend for the 2018 residencies is $20,000 for twelve months. This will be scaled proportionally for shorter residencies.
Applications for 2019 residencies are now open and will close at midnight on Monday 16 July 2018.
Prelude is a collaboration between the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers’ House, National Trust of Western Australia, National Trust of South Australia, National Trust of Australia (NSW), Australian Council of National Trusts, APRA AMCOS, Arts South Australia, Helpmann Academy and Bundanon Trust.
Prelude is assisted by the Australian government through the Australia Council for the Arts.
