Residency opportunity for Indonesian Artist in Australia

The Australia-Indonesia Institute (AII) invites applications from organisations to host a residency for an Indonesian artist in Australia. Applications from individuals are also welcome but applicants should have an existing network of contacts in the Australian arts industry to be able to independently organise a program, including assisting in the facilitating of logistical arrangements.

Under the AII’s arts and culture program, the AII Board has this year decided to allocate up to $10,000 (exclusive of GST) to an arts residency. The arts residency is open to organisations/individuals wanting to host an Indonesian art practitioner across all art forms to undertake a period of study, practice and/or presentation of exhibition/performance in Australia which would be of benefit to the individual artist and also enrich and deepen the bilateral relationship in the arts and cultural spheres. The grant of $10,000 goes towards travel, living and project expenses and affords the recipient the opportunity for a period of period of creative development, a stimulating cultural exchange and international collaboration. The AII funding is intended to complement some form of monetary and non-monetary benefits to be provided by the host organisation.
