Running Water at The Memo

Running Water Band hails from a remote community that doesn’t see too much running water – Kintore, 530kms west of Alice Springs. The band has a growing reputation and were the stand-out performance at Bush Bands Bash 2013, rallying the crowd to dance and sing along to their Luritja lyrics. The following year they were selected to perform the Sand Tracks tour of Central Australia.

They released their debut album in March this year under CAAMA Music’s new grass-roots label ‘Therrka’. Singing in the Aboriginal language of Luritja, they are a lively example of the desert reggae genre so popular in the remote communities of Central Australia.
