Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads film

8CCC, community radio, in partnership with the Alice Springs Cinema present the landmark concert film, STOP MAKING SENSE from director Jonathan Demme and The Talking Heads, at the Alice Springs Cinema on 18NOV at 8pm. The evening is a costume party Membership Drive happening with live music before the film. Come in your fav 80’s gear for a chance at some groovy prizes. Come see this remarkable concert film in surround sound and on the big screen and groove to the enormous energy and joyous highs of the Talking Heads live performance. Band members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison are joined by Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry and Edna Holt.

Shot over three concert performances in LA in December 1983, Demme’s creative genius and the band’s explosive energy is what makes this film an exhilarating and exciting event. Wall-to-wall music, beautiful cinematography and the legendary “Big Suit” make this “one of the greatest rock movies ever made” (Rolling Stone).
