‘The Experience of Walking’ An Exhibition by Alice Buscombe

A solo exhibition of photography, video, cross-stitch and text works. This exhibition considers the feeling of immersion while walking and examines how this can be evoked in an artwork.
The feeling of connectedness to the body, mind and the environment is acute while bushwalking and in this exhibition, Buscombe uses photography and video to create artworks that consider and translate her own embodied experiences while walking through remote locations in the Australian environment. As the artist explains, ‘I am particularly interested in the unspectacular scenes that I see as I walk, as these are the places that are most characteristic of where I find myself bushwalking.’ This is a brief ten day exhibition. Drop in on Saturday 22nd June on your way to the Beanie Festival.
