The Present with John Anderson

Join us this Sunday at The Residency for an evening of songs and supper with self proclaimed troubadour, John Anderson.

John Anderson had himself 15 minutes of self-promotion at the Memo Club’s Open Mike night on Monday and against his better judgment (being an acoustic musician) invited first a drummer and then other amplified instrumentalists onto the stage. It was loud and chaotic and joyous, and enough of his original lyrics must have got through because several people came up afterwards and shook his hand. One discussion group likened him to Paul Kelly.

John, whose early musical impulses were channelled into singing hymns and playing 2nd clarinet in the Melbourne Grammar military band, has been around Alice Springs for 3 months helping to lead Taketina groups twice a week, busking and teaching remedial ukelele…. and enjoying his campfire.

A new and topical song should be ready in time for THE PRESENT at The Residency this Sunday. All Welcome!
