Wallace Rockhole Ceramic Exhibition

Wallace Rockhole Ceramic Exhibition

Exhibition opening Sunday 4 October at 2 pm

Central Craft is excited to announce the first public exhibition from the Wallace Rockhole Potters at the June Marriott Gallery at Central Craft.

This exhibition introduces their high fired ceramics, beautifully decorated with hand painted imagery or engravings, representing wildlife, flora, fauna and land to the wider Alice Springs Community.

The pottery at Wallace Rockhole has been operating for three years with Su Brown, a potter from Queensland, coming to work alongside with the Arrernte community for four month each year. A special focus of their work is also engagement with the primary school children, the next generation, encouraging them to explore and experiment with clay.

Exhibiting artists: Glenys Porter, Angela Abbott, Dianne Abbott, Kathy Breaden, Bernhard Abbott, Buster Bentley & school children

Wallace Rockhole is a small Western Arrernte Aboriginal Community located 120 West of Alice along the James Range.

The exhibition runs till Sunday 19 October.
