Writing Australia National Residencies Call for Applicants
CLOSING 2 JULY: New 4-week national residencies. Apply now!
Applications CLOSE 5pm Monday 2 July: Writing Australia PLACES National Regional Residency Program, Call for Applicants. Published writers in any genre can apply to undertake a four-week regional writing residency. Residencies are offered at Lake St Clair, Tas; Kangaroo Island, SA; Rockhampton, Qld; Orange, NSW; Geraldton, WA, and Bruny Island, Tas. Accommodation, airfares/travel, and a small stipend are included.
These new residencies have been established to support Australian writers who wish to work in regional areas or with regional communities. Writers are asked to select one region suited to their project and to articulate the reasons for their choice. Writers will be expected to engage with the community during their stay with at least two events or workshops and have a specific writing outcome from their stay.
The program is a partnership between Writing Australia, the Copyright Agency, State Writers’ Centres, regional councils and various philanthropic supporters.
Applications are online only and must be received by 5pm on Monday 2 July. Successful writers will be announced in July. Details including the Information for Applicants, FAQs and Application Form are at http://www.writingaustralia.org.au/places
