Writing Shorts in Alice

Develop your short film, based on the LensFlare model.

On Sunday 3 November, 9am-5pm a FREE one-day workshop at Screen Territory, The Old Courthouse, will cover the seven C’s of writing a low budget short film: Concept, Content, Character, Containment, Clarity, Career-management and (rat) Cunning. Yep, writing shorts and making them is a very strategic business.

Bring your script concept along to this free workshop with industry leaders Michael Brindley and Karin Altmann of scriptWorks, presented by the NT Writers Centre. Late bookings please call NT Writers Centre manager, Kaye Hall on 0409 848 765 to confirm your place.

Presenters Michael Brindley and Karin Altmann of scriptWorks, a development company based in Melbourne, will put you and your short film idea through the kind of process that led to the success of short films, such as Oscar nominated Jasper Morello and AFI best short film award-winner, The Palace.

Using examples of successful short films (both documentary and drama), the team will demonstrate techniques that work in short form storytelling. And some that don’t.
