A Song Like Alice: Free Songwriting Workshops

8CCC Radio in partnership with Music NT and with the support of an APRA AMCOS Music Grant, are kicking off another round of free Songwriting workshops in Mparntwe Alice Springs.
Explore Composition, Industry Perspectives and Practice, build networks, develop new works and take home some practical skills supported by local artists Xavia, Resin Moon, Coopeblack and Jessie K.
Every Tuesday, 5-8pm – Red Hot Arts, throughout the month of November.
TUESDAY 3RD: SONGWRITING 101- WHERE TO BEGIN?
Taking the first steps on a songwriting journey can be challenging, whether your first song or a new project. This session provides some practical approaches to starting, and finishing, a song. Mentors Jessie Grainer, Xavia Nou, Jeremy Conlon, Dave Crowe
TUESDAY 10TH: LOOPING BASICS – FOR SONGWRITING AND LIVE
Xavia presents “The increasingly popular use of live-looping to layer up instruments and vocals on the spot enables solo artists to build a more dynamic live sound. It is also a powerful songwriting tool for experimenting and creating arrangements in steps, using simple songwriting building blocks. Come get a taste of the basics and be prepared to never look back. ”

TUESDAY 24TH: BE THE LABEL – SELF PROMOTING & RELEASING YOUR MUSIC
Dave Crowe presents a session exploring the pitfalls and opportunities of self releasing your music with strategies to build a bombproof release plan. From Spotify playlists, cutting vinyl, EPK’s, media releases and visual promotion Dave will help you to develop your elevator pitch and checklists for success.
PERFORM AT THE JUMP INN JAMS
Head down to the Jump Inn after the sessions for an opportunity to perform and network. We have booked a slot from 7:30-8:30 on the 10th. 17th and 24th for A Song Like Alice participants to perform and develop your songs in a supportive space.
