About Desart:

Desart is the peak arts body for Central Australian Aboriginal Arts and Crafts centres and we have over 35 members.

Member art centres are community-based enterprises, owned and governed by Aboriginal people. They provide economic, social and cultural benefits.

We are committed to supporting Aboriginal art centres, which provide autonomy, sustained growth and stability for Central Australian Aboriginal Communities.

Desart has an office in Alice Springs and conducts an extensive program of activities across the region.

About the role:

We are looking for someone to join the team as the front-line contact of the Desart office. The Administration Officer will provide support to all Desart staff and the Desart Executive Committee; while maintaining the Desart office environment to a high standard. This position may involve occasional overnight travel.

The position will report and be under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer.

Key responsibilities:

·             Provide professional reception/front office duties including responding to general inquiries from the public, Desart member art centers and other stakeholders where relevant to Desart programs and services

·             Provide administration services across the organization that supports the development and delivery of Desart programs and services.

·             Assist the Finance & HR Manager to record, monitor and distribute Petty Cash and Travel Allowance.

·             Maintain office systems, resources and supplies to ensure efficient workflow.

·             Attend meetings as required, record minutes and agenda items and maintain relevant meeting registers.
