Desert Festival presents renown Australian story teller Jan Wositzky performing the story of Bill Harney.

This show is presented twice, 22nd evening 7:30pm, 23rd matinee 1pm

When storyteller Jan ‘Yarn’ Wositzky (Bushwackers Band etc) heard the voice of Bill Harney on the radio he packed the panel van and headed north to a land where everything and nothing is black and white, tracking the greatest yarn-spinner of them all, the ‘expert’ on Aborigines – NT legend, WE (Bill) Harney (1895-1962).

Scripted from Harney’s books, radio broadcasts and personal papers, never a life of comfort, full of joy and suffering, mirthful, erudite and ironic in the telling, Bilarni brings this once-famous character to life in a storytelling masterpiece that has delighted and moved audiences across Australia.
