Boro – Japanese mending with Anne Stewart
Sun November 29 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
In this class you will learn how to make a sun hat and how to re-purpose your scraps of lovely fabric. I love the idea that there are no rules – only the ones you make yourself.
But be warned Boro is addictive and, once started, you may not want to stop!
This beautiful and practical needle craft evolved out of dire poverty in the small town of Aomori in Japan during the Edo Period (1600-1868).
The timeless techniques used by Japanese people to patch their clothing for many centuries are now the basis of the worldwide ‘slow stitching’ movement.
