GUTS Dance Public Dance Classes

GUTS public class program is designed to give people a chance to connect to different styles of dance, their bodies and each other in a safe, fun environment.

Classes will run weekly and we will update the website with teachers if and when they change.

COST – $15 per class OR $100 for a 10 class pass (valid for 6 months). Please pay when attending classes.

NTG SPORTS VOUCHERS – can be used to pay for the Little GUTS classes covering a term of classes per $100 voucher.

We encourage people to sign up or get in touch if they would like more information by emailing us at gutsdance@gmail.com, however drop in is also welcome.

Classes will be held at the GUTS studio, Araluen Arts Centre. Please park in the front car park, and walk around the side of the building to enter between the rear of Witchetty’s and the theatre stage door.

Please note: We have a COVID 19 Safety Plan and have put the appropriate measures in place to ensure safety for all participants.

MONDAYS – SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
An opportunity for those in the community with a knowledge of their bodies, previous training and experience in dance practice including improvisation and the learning of technique and choreography to further their abilities and explorations, as well as get MOVING! GUTS will be utilising the expertise of visiting professional dance artists when possible, with Maddy or Frankie teaching the class in between.

TUESDAYS 3:30 – 4:15PM – LITTLE GUTS KIDS CONTEMPORARY FOR 4 – 6 YR OLDS with LAUREN JONES
A great way to move and make friends in a creative class. The children will develop movement skills, create and remember routines and learn how to warm up and cool down properly. This class encourages creativity, focus and social skills.

4:30 – 5:30PM – LITTLE GUTS KIDS CONTEMPORARY FOR 7 – 12 YR OLDS with LAUREN JONES
In this movement class, children will learn more complex routines and be taught how to develop their own style and sequences. No experience is necessary. This is a relaxed class where everyone is welcome. The focus is on exploring creativity, making friends and having a great time!

6:00 – 7:00PM – CHANCE TO DANCE with LAUREN JONES
A beginner’s dance class for adults over 50. Come and learn a mixture of different dance styles in a welcoming space. No dance experience needed, just a desire to move! A fun way to get fit, learn new choreography and meet new people!

THURSDAYS 5:30 – 6:45PM – BEGINNERS CONTEMPORARY with ROTATING TEACHERS
This class is aimed at those who have little experience with dance, and is designed to be an introduction to different elements of contemporary dance practice including technique, improvisation, learning choreography, sharing space with other bodies and getting all your bones and muscles moving! GUTS will be utilising the expertise of visiting professional dance artists when possible, with Maddy, Frankie or Miriam teaching the class in between.

FRIDAYS 9:30 – 10:15AM – MINI MOVERS with LAUREN JONES
A creative movement class for your tots! This fun class will teach your mini movers basic dance techniques and help to build confidence. For parents and toddlers, this session is a relaxed, exciting and welcoming way to explore movement, props and music together.
