Red Hot Arts is seeking a Media and Communications Officer to join our team in Alice Springs.
RHACA is a vibrant arts incubator fostering arts and cultural innovation, development, collaboration and entrepreneurship. Its unique model engages the imagination of the communities of Alice Springs and the surrounding Central Australia region, and transcends physical, social and technological challenges to achieve positive change. We work closely with artists, artworkers and arts and cultural organisations through creative industries and cross sector partnership development; advocacy, sector and industry support; and marketing and audience development to cultivate and shape the central Australian arts sector, contributing to the artistic, cultural and economic development of the region.
As the regional arts body for Central Australia, we provide a range of services to the community, including workshop, rehearsal and meeting spaces and facilities for hire. We promote the region’s arts and cultural events across traditional, online and digital poster platforms and actively support a range of arts and cultural projects, focusing on community development practice activating community engagement and social well-being through the arts.
Red Hot Arts undertakes commissions and contracted projects and our nationally recognised Desert Festival attracts local, regional, national and international audiences; providing a memorable experience that showcases our unique arts, cultural and social landscape within our dynamic desert region.
The Media and Communications Officer is responsible through effective and economical strategies, to actively promote and encourage engagement with Red Hot Arts and its member services, in line with the organisation’s aims.
The Media and Communications Officer will in consultation with the General Manager, act as a marketing conduit between the arts and cultural sectors and the wider Central Australian community to support the incubation of organic marketing, community engagement and relationships. They will be responsible for the creation of content including internal copywriting, promotional collateral, media cataloguing and the shooting and editing of short videos for various platforms; and will work with artists to develop promotion press kits.
