Despite the closure of gyms, studios and public exercise equipment, during times of crisis such as this current global pandemic, it remains important to continue to move your body.
Join Shauna from Karūna Yoga for a 1hr workshop beginning with a gentle yoga practice open to all ages and abilities, and concluding with a deep, guided meditation.
Many scientific studies have proven the effectiveness of yoga for releasing tension and reducing stress and this practice is designed to bring calm and focus back into your life through the connection of mind to body and body to the earth.
Learn some simple meditation and breathing (pranayama), techniques during the extended savasana that you can introduce into your daily routine.
Not one for sitting still for very long, Shauna tried yoga and quickly implemented a regular practice after finding it helped to quiet and calm her mind during a fairly stressful period of her life. Knowing others could benefit from these yoga ‘side effects’, completing a teacher training became high priority and she went to India to complete a 200hr RYT in Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow with Kranti Yoga in Goa. Since then Shauna has taught vinyasa flow at numerous locations around Darwin and LOVES sharing her passion for yoga with the NT community.
This virtual workshop will be live-streamed to the MusicNT Facebook page. There will be time at the end of the workshop for a Q&A session with the panellists. Please leave any questions in the stream comments
