Make a mug for the Mugs-on-Mugs exhibition fundraiser!
Learn how to coil-build a simple mug with clay then make and attach a handle to it.
In this workshop we’ll finish our mugs by painting a portrait on them with ceramic underglaze – please come prepared with an idea for a portrait to paint on your mug in mind. Any kind of portrait – yourself, a mate, the postie, Bron’s ute, your dog – be as creative or as literal as you like.
All materials and tools including clay (white stoneware) and underglaze (in a range of colours) provided. We will glaze and fire your mugs for you after the workshops.
Mugs made in this workshop will be donated to Mugs on Mugs – an exhibition + sale raising funds for first nations communities that will take place during the Australian Ceramics Triennale in Mparntwe in July.
