In April 2018, through some local connections, the Café Art Australia team from Sydney visited Alice Springs for the first time and connected with Territory Families, Catholic Care and St Joseph’s School. Fifty cameras were distributed to Aboriginal youth and adults as well as privately within the wider Alice Springs area, Santa Teresa, and Ntaria. Participants used the cameras for 2 weeks and were invited to take pictures of their daily lives. In October 2018, the cameras were collected. Over 600 photos were taken. A distinguished panel of judges selected the top 40 images to be used for this Exhibition at Alice Springs Public Library and for the 2019 My Alice Springs Calendar, which you can purchase in the library. Come along and enjoy the stories of our community from another’s perspective.
