The No Fracking Way Cabaret will shine a creative light on the issue of fracking in the Northern Territory from 7pm on Saturday October 27th at Montes Lounge in Alice Springs.

The issue of fracking has mobilised thousands of community members across the Territory who have concerns about the potential impacts on groundwater and climate. The campaign to ban fracking in the NT continues on with the recent announcement of the Protect Country Alliance, a coalition of Indigenous groups and representatives, environmental and social justice organisations, and concerned community members.

The No Fracking Way Cabaret will raise important funds for the Frack Free NT campaign and will feature a range of local artists who will be laughing, singing, dancing, and providing thought provoking performances towards a Frack Free future.

The first first half of the evening will be family friendly with a few acts from local kids with inspiring creative action on stage!

“Performance and stories are a wonderful way for everyday people to come together and feel strong in a common cause that sometime can seem very overwhelming, especially when our water is at risk,” said Bianca Gonos, producer of the event and former campaigner from other states.

“All proceeds will go to the next actions supporting those communities most threatened by gas companies and the groups who are campaigning to ban fracking. Fracking is a dirty and dangerous industry – we can do so much better here in the NT with all of our solar potential.”
