NT Creative Industries Immediate Response and Resilience Package

The Office of The Hon Lauren Moss MLA has just announced the following Creative Industries Immediate Response and Resilience Package to support the creative industries sector with a range of programs aimed at helping people and organisations.
The package includes:
DIGITAL ADAPTATION PROGRAM ($200 000)
Support for the Territory arts sector including not-for-profit organisations and artists to help establish an on-line presence including the capacity to develop online content, establishing e-commerce platforms, and supporting business continuity and remote operations.
CHANNEL NT ($200 000)
Development of an online platform to live stream NT creative content, stand-up comedy, live lounge room performances and gigs, creating an online community for creative practice and engagement, showcasing and profiling NT arts to the world.
The platform will be managed, delivered and produced by NT local creative producers, with content provided by artists, in partnership with screen and arts businesses.
TERRITORY ART PROJECTS ($400 000)
Grants will support Northern Territory artists and arts workers across multiple art forms to develop and showcase new work, develop innovative online or digital projects, and acquire new skills.
Activities may include:
- research, development and creation of new artistic works
- innovative use of technology, online platforms, live streaming to develop and show case new work, reach audiences and develop online communities and engagement;
- skills development including participation in online workshops or skills development activities; and
- support for emerging artists in the first five years of professional practice.
SCREEN INDUSTRY SUPPORT & CONTENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ($1 million)
The Government has made a significant investment over the past four years to grow this important industry.
This program will support screen content development, essential upskilling of the industry and development of production-ready content.
A broad range of screen practitioners will benefit, as well as supporting creatives who are essential in the development of screen content including, NT musicians, graphic designers, illustrators, animators, prop and set builders and clothes designers.
INDIGENOUS VISUAL ARTS INDUSTRY SUPPORT PROGRAM ($200 000)
Grants will be provided to our Indigenous visual arts peak bodies (Desart and ANKA) to provide intensive support to Aboriginal art centres, artists and arts workers.
The Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture is working hard to establish these programs and will provide details as soon as possible.
In addition, Arts NT, Screen Territory and NTMEC have been given discretion to provide reporting and other grant condition relief to organisations with existing NTG funding arrangements.
