Safe Harbour is an initiative bringing people together to create a community art installation to spread awareness about refugee and asylum seeker issues…

Who are we? Light the Dark Alice Springs is joining with Safe Harbour Australia: a movement bringing people together – through art and music – to ask the Australian Government to treat all refugees and people seeking asylum with humanity and compassion. Everyone is welcome to join in!

What is the Safe Harbour Project in Alice Springs?  A large boat-like installation, painted with stories and messages of hope and support, will be the centrepiece of a number of small balsa wood boats – decorated by the community. Other activities, such as music, poetry, talks etc can be organised as desired.
