Seeking Audio Producer for Armistice Centenary Project

8CCC Community Radio in partnership with the Alice Springs Peace Action Think Tank is recruiting an Audio Producer for our Armistice Centenary: ‘Listen To Their Stories’ Project.

This is a short contract for commencement ASAP.

The “Listen to Their Stories” project will develop audio/photo/written content for a phone app which will play 11 audio vignettes of stories of World War 1 soldiers and other personnel involved in the war. The stories will also be broadcast on 8CCC Community Radio from the 11th November Armistice Centenary and be hosted at .

It is planned that the app will be accessible on the top of Anzac Hill, in Alice Springs, where there will be visible signage at three locations on the pathway to the top.

Key responsibilities are:
-Reviewing archival audio content that has been identified for inclusion
-Securing copyright and broadcasting rights for content
-Identifying Alice Springs Community members to introduce audio vignettes
-Scripting and recording local voices in collaboration with 8CCC
-Editing/ packaging of project audio/ photos/ text for Broadcast/ App and Webb
-Liaising with Project Reference Group (ASPATT/ 8CCC)

Access to these stories will provide an opportunity for community members to understand the history of Australia and as part of awareness raising to encourage critical thinking and exploration of alternatives to war to resolve human conflicts- in order to work towards just and secure peace across our world.

This Position is funded through a Community Broadcasting Foundation Content Grant, with support for the project from Alice Springs Town Council and Spinifex Valley.
