In its 2nd Academy, the Alice Springs World Chamber Orchestra is exploring Modal improvisation, drawing on both Indian and Western modes, but without adhering rigidly to the traditions of either. Alice Springs World Chamber Orchestra is inviting Alice Springs’ Indian community players to join this 3-day workshop leading to a concert on Sunday May 2nd with traditional and contemporary works.
The Academy will be fascilitated by Dr John Napier, senior Lecturer University of New South Wales, Indian Music Specialist, cellist, author, improviser, and a leading advocate for the Asylum Refugee Orchestra.
