Emerging Arts Professionals Program

Emerging Arts Professionals will travel to Venice, where they will participate in a tailored professional development program coinciding with either the Australia Council’s Vernissage program in May 2019, or Champions’ Program in September/October 2019.  This opportunity is open to applicants from areas as diverse as (but not limited to) curation, cultural programming, arts journalism, arts marketing and communications, arts education, arts.

There are 2 positions available for residents of the Northern Territory supported by Arts NT, Department of Tourism and Culture.

Exhibition Team Leaders Program

Exhibition Team Leaders assume a senior role in managing the daily operations of the Australian pavilion during the Venice Biennale 2019.  Team Leaders gain valuable experience and advance their skills in exhibition management, invigilation and arts administration in the context of a major international exhibition. Exhibition Team Leaders are responsible for the monitoring and security of the exhibition, coordinating a team of Volunteer Exhibition Attendants, giving guided tours to groups, assisting VIP visitors, keeping attendance records and reporting back to the Venice project team in Sydney formally on a weekly basis.

Each Exhibition Team Leader position is for a rostered period of five weeks during the course of the exhibition (4 May – 25 November 2019). Successful applicants will be required to take part in an induction and information session prior to departure.

Volunteer Exhibition Attendants

Volunteer Exhibition Attendants support the Exhibition Team Leader in the daily operations of the exhibition and pavilion during the Venice Biennale 2019.  Volunteer Exhibition Attendants will gain valuable experience and develop skills in gallery invigilation, education, and administration. They will also have the opportunity to contribute to the Australia Council’s Venice Biennale social media and communications and to connect with an international art audience.

Each Volunteer Exhibition Attendant position is for a rostered period of four weeks over the length of the exhibition (4 May – 25 November 2019). Each successful applicant will be expected to take part in an induction prior to departure.

Applications close at 5pm AEDST on 31 October 2018. Assessment and notifications will take place in November 2018.
