Alice Upcy­cle Art Prize – entries now open

Alice Springs Town Coun­cil is excit­ed to announce the inau­gur­al Alice Upcy­cle Art Prize! This addi­tion to the Alice Springs arts cal­en­dar is an ini­tia­tive from Council’s Cli­mate Action Plan that cel­e­brates artis­tic inno­va­tion whilst pro­mot­ing envi­ron­men­tal awareness. As a sculp­tur­al exhi­bi­tion and art prize, the pro­gram will show­case the cre­ativ­i­ty and sculp­tur­al art­works of Cen­tral Aus­tralian artists, work­ing with recy­cled and repur­posed mate­ri­als at a time where reduc­ing, reusing and recy­cling is more impor­tant than ever before. Four Day Workshop – Introduction to Glass Fusing and Slumping with Christine Stewart

The journey of Glass Fusing begins with two basic firing schedules. The first is a ‘Full Fuse’ and second a ‘Dimensional or Tack Fuse’ … these are the base firings where learning begins for all Fused and Slumped Glass Projects.
